The Barnegat Township School District is offering a before and after school Childcare Program. This program is geared toward families who need a safe, well-supervised setting for their children.  Children will be able to participate in supervised activities that will include games, homework time, etc. under the supervision of experienced, qualified staff members.
   
Hours of Operation:
Elementary School openings for the 2016-2017 school year are noted below.
The Before Care Program is held at the Cecil S. Collins Elementary School.  The AM session will be held from 6:00am until the beginning of school.  Children will be bused from the Collins School to their “home” school at the conclusion of before care, just before arrival time.
When the district has a delayed opening the Before Care program will open at 8:30am unless otherwise noted.

The Aftercare Program is held in all of our elementary schools.  Children who attend Donahue and Brackman will attend aftercare in the Collins School.  The PM session will be held from the dismissal of your child’s school until 6:00 PM.  Dismissal times are also provided below for your reference. 
There will be no program scheduled on school holidays or during the summer months.  In the event of an early dismissal and/or a snow day, no program will operate, unless otherwise noted.  
Fees:
Rates are based on school opening and closing times at $5.00 per hour per child.
Elementary School Schedules
 (Listed below to assist in the calculation of your costs per week – prepayment is highly recommended)
 All programs open at 6:00am and close at 6:00pm.  The program is open on half days.

ANY ACCOUNT THAT IS TWO WEEKS PAST DUE WILL RESULT IN THE EXCLUSION OF THE CHILD(REN) FROM THE PROGRAM UNTIL THE ACCOUNT IS BROUGHT CURRENT.
Late Pick-Up Fees:
We understand there are times your schedule is affected by situations beyond your control.  However, the safety and supervision of our children is paramount.
     Beginning at 6:01 pm parents/guardians will be charged a fee of $1.00/minute for every minute the parent/guardian has not arrived for pick-up.  Payment of late fees is expected at the time of pickup.At 6:00pm emergency numbers will be called.  In the event no one is available to pick-up the child, the Barnegat School District reserves the right to notify the Division of Family Services of this fact.

 
Registration:
Registration should be made through the Board Office located at 550 Barnegat Blvd. North, Barnegat, NJ  08005.  Summer hours for the office are 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.  
Staff:
Staff will be under the direction of the Site Coordinator who will be directly responsible for providing site supervision.  Additional staff will be placed, as needed, to insure appropriate supervision of the children at all times.  The staff is responsible for developing the weekly schedule of activities.
Discipline:
Students are expected to follow all school rules of conduct established during the regular day.  Inappropriate behavior will lead to exclusion from program participation.
Transportation:
Parents/Guardians will be responsible for picking up their child(ren) by 6:00 pm.  Failure to comply with this schedule may result in your being charged a late fee and the possible exclusion of your child(ren) from the program.
Snacks:
A snack will be provided and will be coordinated through general district cafeteria ordering procedures.  Student may bring their own snacks, if preferred.
Facilities:
The Barnegat Township School District will provide the multi-purpose room and/or appropriate spaces (gym, computer lab) for both the Before and After School Childcare Program.  The use of fields and playgrounds will be arranged as needed.
Equipment:
Use of school equipment such as mats and tables will be arranged through the Principal and staff at each school site.
Start-Up/End Date:
The program will begin on the first day of school.  PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER EARLY.
The program is not open the last day of school.
