Family Promise of Southern Ocean County is a non-profit, interfaith hospitality network providing temporary shelter, meals, hospitality, and case management for families experiencing homelessness.


Ocean Resource Net:
Resource for families; ranging from employment training and support, medical care, housing needs.


Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service (PESS) for Ocean County:  866-904-4474 

Provides callers with access to emergency services and counseling for non-medical emergencies and crisis intervention.


Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (CMRSS):  (877) 652-7624

Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (CMRSS) is a state program that is available in every county. In Ocean County, CMRSS is administered by Preferred Children's Services. CMRSS is an outreach service for families with children who are experiencing urgent behavioral health issues that threaten their stability in the community. CMRSS responds to the family within one hour of the call for help to provide immediate de-escalation and assessment. CMRSS can remain involved for up to eight weeks to provide direct support services and linkage to other needed resources.

Hearts of Mercy: 
The mission of Hearts of Mercy, Inc. is to help reduce the number of homeless people, families and single parents that find themselves homeless and/or dependent on governmental social service programs in the Southern Ocean County area. Hearts of Mercy will assist with temporary housing, skill training, drug and alcohol abuse counseling, domestic abuse counseling and guidance to improve the likelihood of these in need to get back to having a self-sufficient lifestyle. Hearts of Mercy, Inc. also provides food, meals and basic necessities as needed while in these temporary situations taking the daily worry away so these people/families can focus on personal development and to become a contributing member of the local community.
